Did you know that feeling “sensitive” is biological? We are all are born with certain temperments. Some of us are introverts and some of us are extroverts as one example. The same rule applies to emotional sensitivity as well. Its ok to be sensitive…its how you are hard wired. The more we resist our true nature the more suffering we endure. I am one of the many who can identify with being highly sensitive. For years I tried to be “tough” and non-feeling but it only led to internalizing those feelings and harming myself. Allowing ourselves to be who we are by nature is a step in recovery.
